“Last week, 13-year incumbent Congressman Ron Kind held a press conference calling for fiscal responsibility.  Yesterday, Kind voted to expand the nation’s debt ceiling another $1.9 trillion, or about $6,000 more for every U.S. citizen.  Saying one thing and doing another is no longer acceptable to the hardworking families of Wisconsin.

The current President’s budget borrows 40 cents for every dollar it spends, and even the President’s budget writers have called such deficit spending unsustainable.  The accumulated debt is over $40,000 per person.  Our nation’s bond rating is threatened, yet our Congressman has supported the budget proposal.

We hear the calls for fiscal responsibility, but we haven’t seen it.  The people have lost faith in Congress as public stewards of their tax dollars.   Our Congressman voted with the majority Democratic party for a $787 billion “stimulus” that has failed to create jobs, and has resulted in trillions in bailouts, and repeated increases in the nation’s debt ceiling.  At each turn, he has backed the spending policies of Nancy Pelosi including an 84% increase in discretionary spending just last year!

The majority of the people in the 3rd district have expressed grave concern about this excessive credit card spending.  They have asked for a voice to represent them in Congress.  I would be honored to be that voice.”
