(La Crosse, Wisconsin)... In the midst of district-wide Listening Sessions, Third Congressional District Candidate Dan Kapanke urged Democratic leadership and Congressman Ron Kind to reject the use of the “nuclear option” to push a $1 trillion health care bill through U.S. Congress.

“I am meeting with voters up and down Western Wisconsin and their message is clear – start over and get health care reform right,” said Kapanke.  “Government spending is impeding job growth and bankrupting our country.   Congress is tone deaf on the need to stop the fiscal insanity, and the political class is Washington D.C. needs to stop ramming through new entitlement programs we can’t afford.  We have no money!”

Congressman Kind recently met with the President as they planned how to move their current, stalled health care bill forward.

“It’s simple if you are out here listening to the people.  People are worried about getting and keeping their jobs, how the costs of big government will lead to higher taxes and destroy prosperity, and an economy paralyzed by the threat of what Washington D.C. will do next,” said Kapanke.  “We need a course correction in Congress, not another trillion dollar spending bill.  Congressman Kind should help stop the current proposal so they can begin working toward changes the American people want and need.”
