La Crosse, WI—State Senator Dan Kapanke filed yesterday as a candidate for Congress in the Wisconsin 3rd Congressional District. Kapanke qualified and was certified by the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board as he received the required number of signatures to be on the ballot in the September 14, 2010 Primary election.
"I am grateful to all those in Western Wisconsin who signed my nomination forms to help me get on the ballot and run against Ron Kind in the fall. This will be an exciting election year and I can’t wait to square off against Kind and talk about the issues that are important to working Wisconsin families," said Dan Kapanke. "I am running for Congress to bring a common-sense approach to Washington. It is time to bring fiscal responsibility back to our government by stopping the reckless out-of-control spending, and bringing jobs back to Wisconsin."
Kapanke, a native of Western Wisconsin and military veteran, worked for 25 years in the agriculture business selling seed to farmers around Wisconsin. Kapanke has been elected twice as State Senator from the La Crosse area and is the owner of the La Crosse Loggers. Kapanke has been married to his wife, Ruth for 41 years and has 4 children and 11 grandchildren.
