Kapanke lauds participation, not violence

Dan Kapanke told an audience of 15 people in Tomah Thursday he’s optimistic about the political process and the ability of the people to change Congress and the federal government.

In a separate interview, however, he distanced himself from two audience members who raised the specter of violence.

Kapanke brought his campaign for the 3rd District Congressional seat to the Farmers & Merchants Bank during a two-hour listening session. The Republican state Senator from La Crosse is challenging Democratic incumbent Ron Kind, who has held the seat since 1997.
