La Crosse, WI—State Senator Dan Kapanke filed yesterday as a candidate for Congress in the Wisconsin 3rd Congressional District. Kapanke qualified and was certified by the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board as he received the required number of signatures to be on the ballot in the September 14, 2010 Primary election.

(La Crosse, Wisconsin)... Dan Kapanke received a resounding endorsement by the 3rd District Republican Party on Saturday, March 27 in Eau Claire, as well as winning the straw poll with 94% of the vote.  Kapanke also received the award for the Legislator of the Year for his conservative activism.

(La Crosse, Wisconsin)... U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on March 10 stated that "we must pass it [HR 3590] to find out what is in it," but this week all indications are that Congressional leaders plan to use obscure parliamentary rules to avoid voting on the Senate Health Care Bill.  The procedure would "deem" the Senate bill to pass without a full Congressional vote.
